Spring 2025 - Film Acting
Instructor: Robert Clater
Session 1 (Beginners): This session emphasizes basic camera acting technique through monologue scenes (solo actor on screen). Acting techniques will be taught to enhance the on-camera performance and experience including the Uta Hagen technique. Actors are expected to perform 2-3 memorized and performance ready scenes to be filmed and presented at a culminating event.
Session 2 (Requires prior completion of Session 1): Film class Session 2 continues development of the skills learned in Session 1. We now transition from monologue work to screen tests, self-tapes and scene work, adding the element of working with another actor both on camera and off, and will address Continuity and the Slate.
