Micaela Campos

PIANO INSTRUCTOR

Micaela Campos holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music and Biology from Kalamazoo College in Detroit, Michigan, where she studied piano with Silvia Roederer and jazz piano with Ron DiSalvio.

Micaela has been playing piano since she was four years old and has studied with a variety of teachers who encouraged her to enter competitions and perform as a teenager. During her time at Kalamazoo College, she held the majority of her studies with Silvia Roederer and completed jazz piano studies with Ron DiSalvio.  She also played in the college’s Jazz Band, the Kalamazoo Philharmonia and in pit orchestras for theater productions. Her education at Kalamazoo College also gave her the opportunity to study abroad at the University of Aberdeen, where she took classes and performed with other musicians in the Aberdeenshire region.

Micaela has played at churches, local open mics, pit orchestras, and retirement communities in the area in addition to teaching piano classes.

Micaela’s collaborative and student-led approach encourages her students to create and work on musical goals that suit their interests. As a result, her lessons give her students the tools and knowledge needed to become creative, joyful, and collaborative musicians.
